Inverness driver gets a further ban

A 52-year-old motorist who drove several weeks before the end of a one year ban for drunk driving has been disqualified for a further year.

Conor Collery, of Woodside Crescent, Inverness admitted the offence which occurred about 6pm on April 15, 2023 in the Raigmore area of the city.

His ban had been due to end on July 4.

Collery had been stopped by police for a documents check and officers discovered he should not have been behind the wheel.

Defence solicitor Graham Mann could not offer any explanation on behalf of his client and said: "He made a bad decision."

Collery was also fined £320.
