Risk of ‘intense’ showers sparks Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) flood alerts for parts of Highlands, with Easter Ross, Inverness, Great Glen and Nairnshire among those covered

Flood alerts have been issued to parts of the Highlands and Moray, amid forecasts for heavy showers in some areas.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) has alerts in place for Easter Ross and the Great Glen, as well as the catchments in the Nairn, Findhorn and Speyside areas.
It said most areas would be unaffected, but that those that caught any of the "isolated heavy showers" risk flash flooding.
"This alert is for potential flooding from surface water. Isolated heavy showers on Sunday afternoon will give a risk of localised flooding in some areas," said a spokesperson for Sepa.
"Most areas will be unaffected, but in the areas of the most intense rainfall there could be disruption to travel and some flooding of urban areas.

The floodline quick dial number for the Great Glen and Easter Ross is 22200, while the one for the Narin, Findhorn, Moray and Speyside area is 22300.
