Stoltman brothers both qualify for the World Strongest Man final

INVERGORDON brothers Luke Stoltman and Tom Stoltman have both qualified for the World Strongest Man final after successfully getting through the group stages.

Both men will now take part in the World Strongest Man final on Saturday and Sunday at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in the United States.

Tom (29) finished top of his group when he scored 23.5 out of a possible 30.

He finished second in his opening two events in the Webster Stones and Deadlift Ladder earning five points in each of event.

He then won the Sandbag Steeplechase to pick up a maximum six points. He then tied for first place in the Viking Press with 14 reps before taking it easy in the final event in the car walk, earning the two points required to win the group.

Tom finished two points ahead of Wesley Derwinsky of Canada who beat third placed Jaco Schoonwinkel from South Africa in the stone off to also qualify for the final.

Luke (39) who finished joint second in his group, qualified after winning a dramatic stone off against Eddie Williams from Australia.

He finished second in the Webster Stones, third in the deadlift ladder and second in the sandbag steeplechase to give him 14 points after the first day.

On the second day, he finished joint third in the Viking press and fourth in the car walk to give him a total of 21.5 points, tied with Williams, with Canada’s Tristain Hoath winning the group with 25 points.

The final starts on Saturday with three events including KNAACK Giants Medley, Max Axle Press and Keg Toss.

The final will conclude on Sunday with the Conan’s Wheel, BFGoodrich Tires HD Terrain Deadlift and the Atlas Stones.
