Actors Connor Swindells and Amber Anderson hold traditional wedding at Boath House near Nairn

BBC’s Peaky Blinders actor Amber Anderson and Netflix’s Sex Education star Connor Swindells, have tied officially tied the knot at a Highland mansion.

The celebrity couple got married at the Auldearn Georgian-era mansion, Boath House — near where Anderson grew up in Forres, and later attended Gordonstoun School under a scholarship.

A heart-warming feature of the traditional Highland wedding that may have been noted by keen fans of Sex Education, was that Swindells’ on-screen father, Alistair Petrie, officiated the ceremony.

As reported in Vogue, the bride wore a silk Vivienne Westwood gown with elbow-length gloves, before later changing into a second Vivienne Westwood look — a tartan corset and skirt, with biker boots to accommodate the wedding’s ceilidh.

The two actors kept in touch after meeting on the set of Autumn de Wilde’s Emma, and later grew closer after deciding to bubble together during lockdown.

Vogue said: “Starting out as friends before falling in love is a classic Hollywood trope, so it’s perhaps fitting that actors Amber Anderson and Connor Swindells followed the same route to romance. The couple had stayed in touch after meeting on the set of Autumn De Wilde’s Emma, but it was bubbling together during lockdown that made them see one another in a new light.”
