A £6000-a-month forestry worker was given two months to pay a £640 fine due to his high wage after he admitted driving an eScooter in the Currys car park in Inverness.

Martins Denisovs, of Church Street, Inverness pleaded guilty at the city's sheriff court to driving the unregistered vehicle on March 16 with excess alcohol.

His reading was 93mcgs when the limit is 22mcgs.

Sheriff Robert Frazer also disqualified the unlicensed 21-year-old for 20 months.

But he agreed to a request by defence lawyer Duncan Henderson to certify his client suitable for the drink-drive rehabilitation.

If Denisovs successfully completes the course, he will get a five-month discount on his ban.
