Inverness £825,000 city centre restaurant Girvans ‘under offer’, according to estate agent Graham + Sibbald’s website

An ‘iconic’ family-run restaurant that has delighted food fans in Inverness for decades looks set for life under new owners in the near future.

Girvans restaurant, located on Stephen’s Brae in the heart of the city, was put up for sale for offers over £825,000 back in May.

And it appears interest in snapping up an Inverness institution has been brisk, as it has already been listed as being ‘under offer’ by the estate agent handling the sale, Graham + Sibbald.

No further information is known at this time, nor is it known when the offer/sale might be completed, or by whom.

However, news that it has attracted interested buyers will no doubt please fans of the award-winning eatery, which has been welcoming diners under its current owners for 35 years.

As well as boasting its own in-house patisserie, the restaurant has been a must-see venue for hungry tourists and visitors, with lengthy queues of eager diners often seen outside the door during the season.

Speaking when news of its planned sale was first announced, Graham + Sibbald’s Martin Sutherland said: “This is a great chance for an operator to acquire a well-established business in a thriving city.”

The Graham + Sibbald property brief added: “We are delighted to offer for sale Girvans Restaurant, an iconic, well-known and established family-run licensed restaurant, located in the heart of Inverness.

“Regularly queued out, the business has been run by the same owners for over thirty years and is well known for its variety of quality food and their freshly baked patisserie.

“Located at the bottom of Stephen’s Brae, it has been serving locals and tourists for years and is known for its warm and friendly atmosphere and in-house patisserie.

“The premises has been well-maintained over the years and the owners and staff are constantly refreshing ideas and new dishes.”

“We feel this presents a fantastic opportunity for a buyer to acquire an established town centre, award-winning hospitality business with a good turnover and attractive profit levels.”
