It was a community party down at Riverside in Nairn last weekend — as the popular Picnic in The Park returned for the second time in the neighbourhood.

Organised by Queenspark Residents’ Group, the day saw an array of entertainment, live music and games which brought the community together — as everyone enjoyed a picnic with family and friends.

Group chair Morag Anderson said it was a fantastic day.

She wrote in a Facebook post after the event: “Huge thanks to everyone who attended — whether you're a Shankie, a Nairnite or an incomer (like myself) or from out of town or on holiday, we hope Picnic in the Park lived up to your expectations or maybe even exceeded them?

“Special thanks to Mike Harris at Nairn Boys Brigade and Mikes family for the loan of, and setting up of the huge marquee. Thanks for getting up so early to help us out.

“To my fellow "Crew”, you are all amazing, hard working, talented, kind, skilled, beautiful, community-minded superstars! None of this would be possible without every single one of you. Thanks too to Cllr Babs Jarvie for her help with the Luna Lapin and Reynard Fox "Guess the anniversary" and football card fundraisers.
