Lynda Banks won silver at the European Championships

Lynda Banks came back from injury to produce a stunning performance to claim silver at the European Masters Powerlifting Championships in Sweden.

The Hilton Primary School acting head teacher powered her way to second place at Helsingborg against the top powerlifters from across the continent.

The 52-year-old representing Great Britain came into the competition nine days after she injured her back but was still good enough to produce impressive performances to win three silver medals and one bronze in the competition.
