Broken foot rules out Welsh for rest of season

Sean Welsh looks set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a suspected broken foot.

The 28-year-old came off in the second half during the 3-2 win against Alloa Athletic on Tuesday night.

Manager John Robertson said yesterday the club expected bad news about Welsh's condition.

"He may be out for the rest of the season," he said.

"It looks like he has cracked a metatarsal which he has done before.

"It has not been confirmed, but it looks that way as we await the results of a scan.

"It is a blow for us as Sean has been terrific for us all season and has been one of the unsung heroes.

"He been in the team every week for a reason and it is because of the job he does."
