INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle have been linked with a loan move for Dundee United goalkeeper Jack Newman.

It has been reported by The Courier, Inverness have shown interest in bringing the 22-year-old on a loan deal to the Caledonian Stadium for the 2024/25 campaign.

Newman, who has represented Scotland at under-21 level, has previously been on loan at Spartans and Peterhead.

The speculation comes as regular number one goalkeeper Mark Ridgers has yet to be offered a new deal at Inverness after his contract expired at the end of last season.

Reserve goalkeeper Cammy Mackay left Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the end of last season to join Highland League outfit Brora Rangers.

Inverness restarted training this week at Fort George with no regular goalkeeper signed up for the new campaign as of yet.

It has also been reported former Hibernian goalkeeping coach Stuart Garden has taken over goalkeeping duties at Inverness.

Inverness begin their pre-season campaign against Clachnacuddin on Saturday.
