Inverness Tang Soo Do athletes success at international tournament

ATHLETES from Inverness Tang Soo Do enjoyed success at the UK Invitational Tang Soo Do Championships in Cardiff.

Laura Stewart, Lily Fraser and Layla Urquhart joined the rest of Team Scotland competing in Hyungs (Forms), Weapons and Sparring divisions.

Laura Stewart (21), 3rd Dan Black Belt kicked off the winning streak with Gold in Forms and Bronze in Weapons.

Her younger sister Lily Fraser (13), Brown Tag bettered her big sister’s performance winning Gold in Forms and Gold in Weapons.

Layla Urquhart (11) from Inverness was not going to let her team mates out do her, and aced all her categories winning Gold in Forms, Weapons and Sparring.

Master Kelly Murphy said it was a terrific performance from all concerned.
She said: “The girls performed with great skill and true martial arts spirit supporting their team mates and making new martial arts friends from all over the world. Master Kelly Murphy was very proud of her Inverness students and the entire Scotland Tang Soo Do team.”
