MACGREGOR Industrial Supplies Ltd has launched a new trailer and fencing showroom in Inverness.
The facility will initially provide around 60 industrial, agricultural and domestic use trailers from well-known brands such as Brian James Trailers and Bateson.
It will also stock accessories and spare parts for all makes of trailers from ATE and Warrior.
Trailer prices will start at £500, and there will be an opportunity to trade-in or buy second-hand trailers. There is also a workshop facility which will provide inspections, servicing and repairs to all makes of trailer. The new showroom and workshop is located opposite MacGregor Industrial Supplies on Henderson Road.
The doors opened at 8am on Monday, February 27 and managing director John MacGregor says there's already been a lot of interest: "It's the old premises of Unipart. We've invested time transforming it to meet our needs.
"The building had been empty for several months so there have been a lot of alterations in addition to getting the new fencing and trailer stock ready. We have had staff on site setting up the showroom for the past few months, and customers knew what was coming. We've already sold a number of trailers and generated significant interest.
"Trailers are something that our customers have been asking about for some time so we're pleased to be able to offer them a one-stop-shop for sales, servicing and accessories. In order to bolster our knowledge in this area we acquired the long established business of Macrae Trailers from Billy Macrae. Billy, over the next few months, will support the handover of his business and pass on his expertise to our staff.
"Trailers can be quite a complicated buy because there are so many things to consider so our staff are there to discuss the options, support, and advise.
"The showroom will stock a wide range of trailers including ATV, plant, industrial, car transporter, livestock and horse boxes, so whether you are looking to drop garden waste at the recycling centre or use a more heavy duty trailer for industrial use we will have something to suit your needs," John explained.
The fencing section (previously the nearest one was in the MacGregor's Elgin branch) will offer a variety of styles from a simple garden post and rail fence to a deer fence.
The company stocks netting, coiled wire, barbed wire, timber, gates, accessories and tools.
In addition to the agricultural fencing it has security fencing including chainlink, welded mesh and palisade.
The fencing department will also stock snack feeders, sheep hurdles, troughs, bale net wrapping, bale twine and silage pit covers.
MacGregor's celebrated its 30th year in business in 2016.
The independent family-run company is one of the biggest suppliers of industrial equipment in Scotland.
MacGregor's offers national pricing coupled with local family service. It employs around 275 people in total including its branches in Elgin, Portree, Stornoway and soon to arrive Orkney.
"We hope to attract new customers to our trailer and fencing showroom and offer an enhanced service to our existing client base," added John.
"We have a good reputation for being trustworthy with excellent customer service and after care facilities. Some of our staff have even been here since MacGregor's first opened 31 years ago so they've built up a wealth and depth of experience and knowledge.
"Once people hear positive buying experiences from others they keep coming back and we're looking forward to building on this with the new trailer and fencing showroom."
Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and Saturday, 8am to noon.
