The Comedy Bothy at Hootanannys has a special guest on Friday – the return of comedian Phil Kay to the Inverness venue.

In case you’ve not been paying attention, Phil’s most recent adventures have including hosting as MC the show Goodfather – which showcases the most inventive new comedy acts in London.

And Phil, as well as organising comedy walkabout tours in London and the odd magical mystery bus tour, has also written his lifestory, The Wholly Viable.

Phil – whose career started back in 1989 when he won the So You Think You’re Funny? comedy competition – has had his own Channel 4 series in the past – including Phil Kay Feels and Next Stop Phil Kay – as well as hosting T In The Park, appearing at the Moenlbourne International Comedy Festival and the Adelaide Festival, as an Edinburgh Festival Fringe regular and touring the country.

Phil has a reputation for spontaneous comedy mayhem with improvisation – and his reputation for going with the flow – often resulting in unforgettable sets!

The fourth event of the Comedy Bothy series – which has been packing out, so get there early – is hosted by Conor O’Hara and DJ Butterscotch.

Also on the bill from 8pm are Donnie Shovilin, Kieran Lochore, Jock D and Grant MacIver.
