10 bungalows planned on greenfield site near Caledonian Canal in Inverness
Plans have been submitted to build 10 bungalows on land near the Caledonian Canal in Inverness.
The site, located off St Valery Park in Dalneigh, is currently a greenfield site
The application, submitted by Highland Council, is for two-bedroom, semi-detached and terrace bungalows.

The site is bounded by the canal to the west, residential and commercial properties to the north and residential properties to the east and a playing field to the south.
Historic Environment Scotland (HES) has submitted its views as a consultee, saying the proposed development is broadly in keeping with the existing housing surrounding it.
It states direct impacts upon the Caledonian Canal, a scheduled monument, are unlikely as it is separated from the site by up to 7m of rough ground and a pathway that is to be retained.
It states: "If this pathway is re-routed to suit the development boundary (per the proposed site layout), scheduled monument consent may be required for any work that physically impacts the monument."
HES also notes the development site lies about 3m lower than the tow path level.
"While there would be an impact on the setting of the monument, it would be in keeping with the existing development in the area and be readable as infilling," it states.
"It would not, therefore, result in any significant impacts on the canal or its setting."
It adds although it does not object, it should not be taken as support for the proposals.
Surface water drainage proposals are outlined in a report by structural and civil engineers Ramsay and Chalmers.
It states: "The flood history has been researched and there existing pockets of medium and low surface water flood risks shown on the SEPA flood maps within the existing park and to the south of the proposed site.
"The proposed adjustments to the surface water drainage that have been proposed are expected to improve/remove any small pockets of ponding on the site."
