£1000 donation offer as hunt for missing Nairn guide dog Tess continues
A £1000 donation has been offered as the hunt for a missing guide dog continues.
Tess, a six-year-old black curly coated retriever, went missing while on a free run with her owner in Nairn on 23rd July.
Despite possible sightings as far afield as Peterborough she has not been found, and the charity fears someone may have her.
Pets at Home director Peter Pritchard has now come forward to offer a £1000 donation to the Guide Dogs in return for any information that helps find Tess.
The donation to the charity is instead of a normal reward as the organisation fears this could encourage people to snatch guide dogs in the belief they might make money out of it.
A Guide Dogs spokesman said: "The donation will be made when we are given information that helps us find Tess.
"We are very grateful to Pets at Home for offering the money in the form of a donation.
"Many other people continue to help us find Tess and we are grateful for all the support."
Anyone who thinks they have seen Tess should call 0800 6888 409.
The charity added that it is unlikely she will be wearing a harness as she wasn’t wearing one at the time of her disappearance.
Tess’s owner Fraser Stevenson, who relies on her to get around, is desperate for her safe return.
Speaking recently to The Inverness Courier, he said: "This is the worst time, it is getting dark and colder. My stomach was churning constantly last night."
