A two vehicle crash has closed the A9 just south of Brora.

Emergency services are at the scene at Doll around two miles south-west of the Sutherland village, with police urging all motorists to avoid the route where possible.

It is not yet known if there were any casualties.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 6.10pm we received a report of a crash involving two vehicles on the A9 between Brora and Golspie at Doll.

“Emergency services are in attendance and the road is closed.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.”

It is understood diverted traffic will be directed via Lairg and Altnaharra.
