40 Stagecoach services in and around Inverness cancelled due to staff shortages and illness

FORTY Stagecoach bus journeys in and around Inverness have been cancelled today due to ongoing staff shortages and sickness, the firm has said.

Thirty-six of the cancellations involved some of the journeys on routes 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 9.

Worst affected is service 2, which accounts for well over half of today's cancellations.

Four further journeys, this time on service 1, were also later cancelled due to staff sickness

These were the 7.30am service from Queensgate to Balloch, the 8.10am Balloch to Dalneigh, the 9.08am Dalneigh to Balloch and the 10.10am Balloch to Academy Street journey.

Stagecoach offered its "apologies for this inconvenience".
