1 Out of this world fun
Go and celebrate World Earth Day at Inverness Museum on Saturday, April 22 from 11am-3pm with events for the Wild Escape Project. High Life Highland Ranger John Orr will be in the galleries from 11am-12pm for Ask A Ranger, with quick interactive games exploring biodiversity. You can try out a simple craft with artist Claire Macdonald in Room To Discover and view the fantastic model boxes, animal characters and animations created by pupils participating in the Wild Escape Project. All are welcome to drop in – no booking required. And don't forget the Wild Escape family trail aimed at pre-schoolers – search for the wooden animals hidden in the museum's display cases. They are all native, apart from one – will you find it? The trail continues until July8.
2 Settle down for some screen time
Check out Mini Mornings at Vue Cinema Inverness every Saturday and Sunday morning (school holidays too) from 10am. There is always a special bill of movies for youngsters and adults with low price tickets – this weekend, Madagascar 2 (PG).

3 Close-up on a different world
Set in a small Iranian town, Winners (PG) is the story of nine-year-old Yahya and his friend Leyla who find a precious statue. Sharing a passion for cinema, Yahya's boss Naser Khan decides to help them find the owner. Winners is on Monday, April 24, Tuesday, April 25 and Thursday, April, 27 and is a Scottish drama funded by Creative Scotland. In Farsi with subtitles.
4 Capture the spirit of adventure
A new take on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic Scottish story Kidnapped is billed as a swashbuckling rom-com adventure directed by Isobel McArthur who recently brought us Pride & Prejudice* (*Sort Of). This is performed by the dynamic actor-musicians of the National Theatre of Scotland. It arrives at Eden Court on Wednesday, April 26 running to Saturday, April 29 for a 12+ audience.

5 Go wild in the country
Bushcraft Basics is back at Logie Steading, Dunphail, on Saturday, April 22 from 10am-12.30pm and with more events over the coming months if you can't make this one. Under 12s will go free if they are accompanied by an adult (ticket £20). You get to learn the basics of bushcraft and have fun in nature. Learn how to track animals, forage for food (though bring a snack) and build a shelter. The perfect outdoor experience for the whole family, says the organiser of Will Hall Wildlife.
