Acclaim-ed show gives a boost to Haven Centre appeal
An Inverness choir has held its first fundraising Christmas concert in the city since 2019.
Acclaim Choir held the special performance in the Free North Church in front of an audience of around 800 people.
Choir director Elaine Kirkham said: “As well as hearing pieces sung by the choir, the audience enjoyed singing favourite Christmas carols along with the choir. Eileen Mackintosh, soprano, enthralled the audience with two superb solos, and some of the instrumentalists delighted their listeners with a piece written by Duncan Chisholm.”
So far the concert has raised approximately £3500 with donations still coming in online.
The choir's efforts will help the Haven Centre appeal with Elsie Normington, founder and chairwoman of the Elsie Normington Foundation, attending the concert.
She thanked the choir for being willing to support the charity once more.
