American tourist appears in court on dangerous driving charge after A9 crash





A 53 year old American tourist has appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court on a charge of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Police Scotland confirmed Christopher Adams' appearance follows yesterday afternoon's three-vehicle crash at Raliabeg on the A9.

Adams who is from North Carolina made no plea, was committed for further examination and released on bail.

The accident caused a six-hour closure of the trunk road.

A statement by the force confirmed: “We were called to a report of a three car crash on the A9 southbound near the Ralia junction, Newtonmore,

“Emergency services attended and a 69-year-old woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.
