Inverness-Lapland trip second service is confirmed
There is double delight for people excited to meet Santa thanks to an Inverness-based travel agency.
After reporting on Saturday that Murray Travel was considering organising a special day trip to Lapland - with a direct flight from Inverness Airport - two days in a row due to high demand, the firm has confirmed it will run the service on back-to-back days.
With a return day flight connecting the Highland capital to Rovaniemi in Finland - hailed as the official home of Santa Claus - the original day trip set up for December 13 sold out in just five days.

The flight will carry 186 seats for the day trip (priced at £649 per child and £699 per adult) will include a variety of experiences, including husky rides and a visit to Santa Claus Village in the Arctic Circle.
Now the travel firm’s boss Scott Murray says it is doing the same again on December 14.
More than 160 people on a waiting list are being told today about the new service, with any remaining seats going on general sale tomorrow.
Mr Murray said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support of our first trip to Lapland. So much so that putting a second day on was really a no-brainer.
“The aircraft holds 186 people and we had 166 on the waitlist. While we don’t expect that everyone on the waitlist will book, it does give us confidence that the demand for services from our local airport is strong, and we are delighted to have the opportunity do our part to meet it.”
