Inverness serious assault: Man due in court in connection with attempted murder charge following attack at Johnny Foxes bar in the Highland capital’s Bank Street on Sunday

An 18-year-old man will appear in court later today after being charged in connection with attempted murder following a serious assault in an Inverness nightspot at the weekend.

The man, who has not been named, was arrested and charged following an incident inside Johnny Foxes in Bank Street at around 12.40am on Sunday morning.

A 20-year-old man suffered a “serious injury” in the incident as was taken to Raigmore Hospital.

Confirming that a man had been arrested and will appear in court later today (Monday), a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a disturbance within licensed premises on Bank Street in Inverness shortly after 12.40am on Sunday, April 13.

“A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious injury.

"An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with attempted murder. He is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday, April 14.”
