AN Inverness kitchen store proved it's a chick magnet this morning when ducklings waddled up to its window to nest.

Staff at Magnet Kitchens on Stadium Road went quackers when they found three feathered friends snuggling by a shop window at 9am.

It was feared that seagulls may eat the baby ducks, so staff took them inside and kept them in a cardboard box.

The cuties made such an impression on store workers that they named them – Dylan, Frieda and Fluff.

Staff members Debi Stansfield, Laura Aburrow and Robbie Campbell all took photos of the ducklings.

Scottish SPCA officers picked up the wee ducks at around 11am.

Designer Laura Aburrow said: “They'd lost their mum. They were just making a wee nest for themselves.

“Maybe they saw a basket and thought it was a good nest. They've obviously made their desperate journey from somewhere and they've waddled over here.

“We were really sad to see them go.”

It is believed they were separated from their mother and siblings then made their way across the busy road from the Moray Firth.
