Inverness bakery Harry Gow raises cash for Help for Heroes
A TOTAL of £1200 has been raised by customers of an Inverness bakery to help injured veterans.
All 19 of Harry Gow's outlets sold cupcakes to raise funds for Help for Heroes.
The charity launched its Bake for Heroes campaign during Armed Forces Week.
Harry Gow’s stores got involved and donated 100 per cent of their cupcake sales to the cause.
The flowers atop the cupcakes were coloured to red and blue, matching the Help for Heroes branding.
Sara McIntosh, production manager and director at Harry Gow, said: “The whole team at Harry Gow got to support such a great cause, from confectioners to our store staff – which felt very rewarding for us all.
"It’s even more rewarding as the whole of the UK can benefit from the fundraising for this campaign; which is something a little different for us as the majority of our support goes back into the local community.
"We’re extremely thankful to our customers for choosing to purchase our cupcakes during the campaign and helping us to raise such a fantastic total.”
David Martin, head of supporter fundraising at Help for Heroes, said: “We are really grateful to Harry Gow bakery for supporting our Bake for Heroes initiative and raising such an incredible amount.
"Every penny raised will provide vital support to our nation’s wounded heroes, including the 800 veterans we support in Scotland through our fellowship network and recovery programmes.
"It’s never too late for friends, families and colleagues to get involved – you can get your free fundraising pack full of ideas at www.bakeforheroes.org.uk"
