Hopes for annual return of one-day mini musicfest Bandstock
A group of local bands got together to play Bandstock on Sunday, a new event in Inverness.
It was planned with the aim of getting a one-day midsummer festival together for city music fans.
Held at the Beaufort Hotel, it was the brainchild of members of the band Space Van which features promoter Steve Robertson on bass.
The band got together some well-known local line-ups and musicians from Inverness and Ross-shire to come along and offer a set of songs each to keep the day flowing in the chilled environment of the hotel.
Playing on the day with Space Van were Macgilli, Rope Limit, This Machine and The Side.
Rikki the frontman with Lucid Liars said later this week: "The day was great with a relaxed atmosphere and a lot of good music to enjoy from the local artists – as well as some interesting facepainting on the kids!
"We played early on, which was a stipulation to the promoter so my daughter could see her dad play for once!
"And we were glad to see a lot of familiar faces as well as new friends in the audience.
"Playing a daytime gig like this is a rarity for us, and the folk at the Beaufort treated us well making sure the day was a success.
"We look forward to further events like this and hope that the promoter Steve makes Bandstock a yearly event because as far as I'm concerned it was a success all round!"
Afterwards, Steve Robertson said: "It was a great day at the Beaufort Hotel for the initial Bandstock with people coming and going through the day to see the different bands and families being able to attend.”
“All the bands were amazing and the feedback from attendees was great.
"We are keen to make a few tweaks, but to look at this being an annual thing!"
