Inverness beekeeping show set to take place
There is going to be quite a buzz in Inverness this weekend as the only beekeeping equipment show in Scotland is set to take place.
Organised by Loch Ness Honey Company the event is open to anyone interested in beekeeping, whether you have no knowledge or lots of experience.
The event runs on Saturday, March 29 from 11am until 4pm at Culloden and Balloch Baptist Church.
Andrew Card, owner of Loch Ness Honey Company said: “We did the show last year and it was a big success.
“We have one of the UK’s biggest bee equipment companies coming along. Inverness Beekeeping Association and Dingwall and District Association will be there too.”
The event runs from 11am until 4pm at Culloden and Balloch Baptist Church.
250 people attended last year, but Andrew is now hoping for sweeter success at this event due to it being the only show of its kind south of the border.
He said: “We will be providing information for beginners classes for people who wish to start beekeeping.
“The popularity of it seems to be rising and we already have 40 people booked in for this year for beginner courses.”
Donations for refreshments at the event will be given to Bees for Development. It promotes sustainable beekeeping to combat poverty, build resilient livelihoods and benefit biodiversity.
