A new initiative has seen Inverness folk washing large items at the Blackpark Filling Station.

Business owner Shyam Karthikeyan, said the installation of the Laundrette Revolution units has seen people from all over the area bringing curtains, duvets and larger items to wash.

The laundry units – washing machines and tumble driers – were installed last month at both the Blackpark and the Ord Filling Station in Muir of Ord.

Mr Karthikeyan said: "We recently installed the laundry machines at both of our filling stations.

"Lots of local people are using them to wash larger items like curtains and bedding. They are getting a lot of use.

"We got the units in Blackpark and Muir of Ord Filling Station – but so far the Blackpark one is the busiest."
