Body of woman found in Moray Firth

The body of a woman has been recovered from the Moray Firth.

A police spokesman said: "While formal identification has yet to take place, the family of missing person Anne Munro have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

"Officers would like to thank the public for their assistance."

Earlier today, Tain police said they were increasingly concerned for the wellbeing of 57-year-old Ms Munro, who was reported missing last night from Ardgay.

She was last seen in the North Kessock area and police said she might have walked to Inverness.

She is described as 5ft 3in, petite build with blonde bobbed hair style and glasses. She was wearing a pink/purple fleece, navy blue jacket, blue jeans and black shoes and might have had a blue tartan handbag.

Police want anyone to report sightings by calling 101.
