Boy (10) wins primary school pupil of the year at Highland Heroes for his compassion, dedication and teamwork
A 10-year-old Lochardil pupil has been crowned a Highland Hero of 2025.
Angus MacDonald was announced as primary school pupil of the year at the packed out Highland Heroes awards at the Drumossie Hotel on Friday night.
Angus is described as mature beyond his years and shows compassion, dedication and teamwork in all elements of his life.
Often star of the week at school for being kind and helpful, he’s regularly praised by Highland Rugby Club too, for team spirit, hard work and determination.
When things don’t go his way, he simply resets and learns from mistakes.
His motto was borrowed from his Granny – ‘stick in till you stick out’.
Speaking about his win, Angus said: “I can’t believe I got it, because I was not expecting to get it.
“It means a lot, because when I got shortlisted my mind exploded!”
He was joined at the event with his sister, mum, dad, two grannies and grandad.
“They’ve all joined and enjoyed the evening”, said Angus.
