BREAKING: Firefighters battle wildfires on B861 between Culduthel and Inverarnie resulting in road closure
Wildfires have resulted in the closure of the B861 between Cuthduthel and Inverarnie, near Farr this morning, with firefighters continuing to battle the blaze.
A total of six Scottish Fire & Rescue Services (SFRS) fire appliances have been mobilised to fight the fires, which have resulted in smoke clouds obscuring the roads nearby.

Motorists are being advised that the road has been closed until further notice, but SFRS have advised that there is “no immediate threat to life or nearby property”.
An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.14am on Friday, March 21, to reports of a wildfire off the B861 between Inverness and Farr.
“Operations Control have mobilised six fire appliances and special resources to the scene.
“Firefighters continue to work to bring the wildfire under control.
“There is no immediate threat to life or nearby property.”
The blaze follows an SFRS warning of a “very high risk” of wildfires today, which was issued yesterday.
