The funeral of a former Tomnahurich bridge keeper and Jacobite Cruises skipper will take place in Inverness next week.

Ronald Ross, from Inverness, passed away in Raigmore Hospital with his family by his side on November 30, aged 74.

He had worked for Scottish Canals for 49 years, more latterly as the bridge keeper at Tomnahurich and as a part-time skipper with the popular loch cruise firm.

Announcing his funeral, the funeral directors William T Fraser & Son said he was a “much loved husband of Mary for 50 years, loving dad to Ronald and Jen, dear brother and uncle.

“[He] will be greatly missed.”

The service will be held at William T Fraser & Son’s funeral home in Culduthel Road, Inverness on Thursday, December 12 at 1pm and there will be a warm welcome to all who wish to attend.

No flowers please, but donations are invited for Raigmore Hospital at the service or via the funeral directors.
