The redevelopment of Inverness Castle will be in the spotlight at a business organisation's keynote lunch later this month.

Business leaders at Inverness Chamber of Commerce's event at Glen Mhor Hotel on April 21 will hear from Fiona Hampton and Liam Christie of the Inverness Castle Experience.

It will follow the chamber's AGM.

A spokesman for the chamber said: "The exciting redevelopment of Inverness Castle and Castle Hill will underline the city’s role as capital of the Highlands and a hub for the region, as well as form a vital part of the regeneration of Inverness city centre.

"The first phase of development will see the castle transformed into a world-class attraction for visitors and locals with areas for eating and drinking, shopping, and for learning more about the extraordinary landscape, language, and culture of the Highlands and Islands.

"The grounds of the castle will be transformed into a fantastic outdoor space that can be enjoyed throughout the year, as well as providing a perfect location for beautiful views of the river, the outlook to Loch Ness, and Ben Wyvis to the north.

"The transformed Inverness Castle and grounds will also celebrate the Spirit of the Highlands in 100 stories, capturing the essence of the region’s unique environment, culture and character. It will look to the future too and the ways in which the Highlands and Islands can lead in areas such as green energy, community land development, and cultural growth rooted in local communities.

"Join us at this keynote lunch to learn more about the redevelopment and what it means for Inverness and the Highlands. There will also be an opportunity for questions."
