Taste of Nairn: Businesses encouraged to take slice of the action
Businesses in Nairn are being encouraged to get their teeth stuck into a three-day food and drink festival which is now in its fifth year.
Taste of Nairn will take place in the seaside town from May 9-11 and businesses local to the area are being encouraged to enjoy a slice of the action.

The audience has been growing each year and last year the event attracted over 10,000 people to the town, over the course of the weekend.
Nairn BID organises the event which incorporates two markets, the World Tattie Scone Championships, the Showstopper Cake Contest, demonstrations, tasters and tantalising talks.
But the rest of the programme is made up by other businesses across the town staging their own edible events.
Lucy Harding, manager of Nairn BID, said: “We are excited that Taste of Nairn is back and we want as many of the town’s businesses to get on board and stage their own events that the locals and visitors can feast on. Over the years we have had a huge variety of events from wine tastings, foraging walks, special menus and Taste of Nairn weekend offers, business collaborations and so much more.”
One business which has embraced Taste of Nairn since it was first cooked up is The Classroom Bistro.
Over the years, it has staged its own events, got involved in the street market and done cocktail demonstrations at the indoor food and drink market.
Ricky Scobbie, general manager of the restaurant, said: “We have found it a great platform to stage some different events over the course of the weekend and the indoor market is a brilliant platform to raise awareness of what we do.
“We usually do a cocktail making demonstration and last year, in particular, this worked brilliantly for promoting our cocktail classes. This year we have a few events planned including a barbecue at the street market and events at the restaurant itself. I would urge any of the town’s food and drink businesses to get involved.”
