A spokesman for the 1st Battalion The Highlanders said: “The aim of the course is to focus the cadet’s attention on the personal characteristics they should be trying to develop, giving them leadership qualities that would serve them well wherever they go and whatever they do.”

The culmination of the course was a three-day exercise with the cadets taking on various command and leadership positions.
