Serco chief executive Rupert Soames visited the Highlands today despite a Scottish Government order not to travel during the Covid-19 outbreak.
He has been criticised by the RMT union for travelling from England to visit Caledonian Sleeper staff in Inverness.
The two-day trip has been described as outrageous, however Caledonian Sleeper operator Serco has said the meeting with key workers was necessary.
Transport Scotland has said it was not aware of the visit.
