Car park closure for Nairn Courthouse steeple removal
The top of the Nairn Courthouse steeple/viewing tower will be removed on Sunday.
It will be lifted off by crane and placed in the rear car park to allow repairs to be made to the wooden and lead structure.
It is part of an ongoing refurbishment project.
To allow crane access and carry out the lift, the full rear car park will be closed from 10pm on Saturday to 10am on Sunday.
The lift is weather dependant but expected at 8.30am.
A spokeswoman for Highland Council said: "For public safety, the High Street will be closed off in the immediate vicinity of the courthouse for the duration of the lift. Areas adjacent to the courthouse will also be cordoned off for safety reasons.
"Once the steeple has been removed, it will be lowered into a secure compound in the rear car park for works to take place."
The refurbished steeple is expected to be replaced at the end of July.
The works are being carried out by Laing Traditional Masonry.
