Inverness care home searching for founder's family
AN Inverness care home is on the hunt for family members of its founder ahead of a special fundraising event.
Isobel Fraser was a mother of seven renowned for her humanity, imagination and keen awareness of the needs of others and after she was widowed she pursued her dream of opening a home to help infirm and elderly people.
In 1899 she secured a cottage in Crown Street, Inverness and in 1918, after her death, the home was named The Isobel Fraser Cottage Home.
In 1938 a new purpose-built facility was built in Mayfield Road where the home has remained ever since.
Throughout its life, the home has provided the best loving care for their residents, always striving to improve.
The home is planning a fundraising event on Saturday, June 3 and if possible would like to invite a member of Isobel’s family to be a special guest. It is hoping the people of Inverness and surrounding areas can aid it in the search.
