A CELEBRATION of musical culture from across the world brought the crowds flocking to the Black Isle.

The Nu Lands World Ceilidh held at The Stables in Cromarty at the weekend saw a truly globe-spanning range of performances.

Among a wide-ranging spread of talent taking to the stage were young band The Change Makers from the Feis Rois traditional music organisation and drumming outfit Penguin Tuxedo, who came from Nairn.

There were also sounds from Syria along with storytelling, samba rhythms and a set from DJ collective Karawane, who hosted the event.

Drawing an audience of all ages for both listening and dancing along, the Saturday evening event also saw the audience enjoying some international flavours at a delicious half-time buffet.
