Scotland’s prestigious Gaelic short film competition, FilmG, is looking for entries to this year’s event

Scotland’s prestigious Gaelic short film competition, FilmG, is looking for entries to this year’s event.

The competition offers young filmmakers an alternative route into Gaelic media and last year received over 100 entries.

This year filmmakers are being tasked to create films based on the theme of Lorg (Find/Seek), with 20 awards up for grabs and schools and communities very much encouraged to take part.

Debbie MacKay, FilmG project manager, said: “We want to help all those young people who aspire to work in film, TV or even TikTok.

“Young people are constantly making films on their phones, whether five seconds on Snapchat or hours long live streams on Twitch, and we want to develop those practical skills into making fantastic short films.”

The deadline for entries is December 13.
