Change of venue for Highland Council's Nairnshire Committee

Highland Council's Nairnshire Committee will take place in Auldearn due to its usual hosting an annual book and arts event.

Councillors will meet in the Lethen Hall instead of Nairn Courthouse, which will be hosting the Nairn Book and Arts Festival.

Committee chairman Tom Heggie said: “Due to the clash of dates this is the ideal time for us to take our committee to Auldearn and hopefully give members of the public living in the community the chance to come along to listen to the meeting.

"As a committee we have talked for some time about taking our committee to different communities so this is the ideal opportunity to do this for the first time.”

The meeting will start at 10.30am and the agenda and papers are available on the council’s website.
