A UNIVERSITY student has mapped the changing face of Inverness between 1984 and now – showing it has grown by more than 97 per cent.
Freja Lundberg made a short video to show how much Inverness has grown over the past 35 years, as part of her geography degree at the University of Aberdeen.
As one of the fastest growing cities in the UK the map shows it has taken an unusual shape due to land to the east of Inverness being flatter than that to the south and west, making it easier to develop.
The population of the city has increased by 10,000 between 2007 and 2017.
This level of growth seems set to continue with Highland Council planning 6664 new houses between 2021 and 2031.
