Highland Business Women begins 2021 charity of the year search
HIGHLAND Business Women (HBW) has launched its search for its 2021 charity of the year.
Every year the networking group invites charitable organisations based in or operating within the Highlands to apply to become its nominated charity and become the focus of HBW's fundraising activities throughout the year.
The support of HBW can make a real difference to charities.
In 2019 HBW raised £5300 for The Oxygen Works and the year before donated £4000 to The Elsie Normington Foundation’s Haven Project.
The 2020 charity is Fèis Rois, and despite the ongoing pandemic HBW members have continued to support the traditional arts group through regular events as well and its 25th anniversary Dare & Donate Challenge.
The final total will be presented to Fèis Rois on Wednesday January 13 2021 when shortlisted groups will be able to pitch for HBW's backing as the chosen charity for 2021.
HBW president Màiri Macdonald said: "As 2020 draws to a close our attention is turning to next year and seeking applications for our charity for 2021. Are you involved with a worthy charity that could use our help? Or are you aware of a charitable organisation that brings direct benefits to the Highlands? Please share the news that the call for applications is open and interested charities can request the application form and fund further information at our website, www.hbw.scot.
"Drop us an email and Jenny Liddell, our charity champion, will send you everything you need to get started."
The closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday December 21. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to pitch to HBW members at the lunchtime meeting in January 2021 and must have a representative able to attend.
