A NAIRN childcare group has been awarded an Eco Schools green flag for its efforts to improve environmental sustainability.

The Junior World Childcare Centre, run by the Care and Learning Alliance (CALA), has worked hard to achieve the award.

Manager Jane Mackintosh said: “I believe that children of all ages attending the setting are developing responsible citizenship through the different opportunities to engage with the environment and learn what part they can play in helping to actively protect it.”

The group were able to achieve the award through projects including litter-picking, gardening, recycling and upcycling, as well as enjoying visits from different green groups.
