Staff at a long-established barber shop are pleased to be back at their Victorian Market base in Inverness.

Uppercut has been at its historic location since 1981 – and has been in business since 1949.

Manager and partner Brenda Treasurer said they were glad to be back and that there seemed to be more people in the town.

She said: “The response from customers has been that they were delighted to see that we had all the Covid-19 measures in place. We’ve been asking our clients how they feel about their visit and everybody has been pleased and feels secure.

“They say we are dealing with the restrictions responsibly.”

Mrs Treasurer said there had been an initial rush once they had reopened as people wanted their lockdown haircuts tidied up.

She said: “To be honest I am really surprised we’ve not seen a whole load of obscure hair cuts!”
