Dundee woman has licence revoked after drug-driving in Inverness city centre

Police officers who carried out a check on a motorist in Inverness city centre detected a strong smell of cannabis from the vehicle.

A drug swipe proved positive for the Class B drug and when Leah Mackenzie's blood was analysed, she had 2.3mcgs of a cannabis metabolite in her system when the legal limit is 2mcgs.

The 28-year-old, who now lives at Milnes East Wynd, Dundee, admitted drug-driving after police stopped her in Union Street on February 17, last year.

Defence solicitor Natalie Paterson told Sheriff Gary Aitken at Inverness Sheriff Court: "Due to this offence, her driving licence has now been revoked."

Mackenzie was fined £520 and banned from driving for a year.
