MASONS have donated £1600 to mental health charity Mikeysline after a successful comedy night.

Members of Lodge Averon 866, in Alness, popped into Mikeysline’s Inverness base to hand over the cash, which was raised by a comedy night organised by Bro Gary Miller and his wife Kim.

The event featured five Inverness stand-up comics who offered their services for free and produced what organisers hailed as “an excellent night”. There was also support and sponsorship from businesses and people.

Right Worshipful Master, Donald J Mathieson, said: “This is Lodge Averon 866 at its best.

“Bro Gary Miller exemplifies the characteristics of a young modern mason and with the support of his brethren makes things happen for a worthwhile cause.”
