A planned overnight road closure in Inverness will no longer be necessary, Highland Council says.

Drivers were warned yesterday that part of Stadium Road, between the Longman Road junction and A9, would be closed from 8pm tonight until 5 am tomorrow (Wednesday).

However, contractors working on behalf of Bear (Scotland) Ltd no longer requires the road closure.

The route runs under the Kessock Bridge which is currently being repainted by the firm.

A Highland Council spokeswoman said: “They have decided to change their work method, which will enable them to accommodate traffic along Stadium Road.”
