Highland Council on the ball for Inverness Caley Thistle

DOZENS of people gathered at Inverness Town House to help mark the 25th anniversary of Caley Thistle.

A civic reception was held for the Scottish Cup semi finalists who are targeting promotion to the Premier League this season.

Among the guests were Caley Thistle manager John Robertson and club captain Carl Tremarco, along with several other current and former players.

Caley Thistle chairman Graham Rae thanked Highland Council for its support over the years.

“Our successes have always been welcomed and marked by the council and who can forget the celebrations when we won the Scottish Cup in May 2015 and qualified for the first time for Europe,” he said.

“In turn, I hope we have been good for our local community.

“A successful football club brings pride to the city and boosts the local economy.”
