Highland A-road closed following crash, confirm Police Scotland officers; Scottish Fire and Rescue Services also in attendance at scene on A938 north-east of Carrbridge

Emergency services were in attendance at the scene of a road crash which closed a Highland A-road on Tuesday evening.

The A938 was shut between Achnahannet and Duthil, north-east of Carrbridge, following the crash, which is understood to have occurred at around 6.25pm.

Police and the fire service were still in attendance at the time of writing at 8pm.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said three of its appliances had been sent to the scene at 6.34pm - two from Grantown-on-Spey and another from Carrbridge - to assist with a car in a ditch,

Police, meanwhile, were reporting that two vehicles had been involved in the collision and urged motorists to avoid the area.

There was no immediate word as to whether anyone was injured.
