Do you have £7.5m to buy Beaufort Castle?
Business tycoon Dame Ann Gloag has put her Beaufort Castle estate near Beauly up for sale.
Rightmove has the "exceptional Highland castle property" listed for offers over £7.5 million.
It has 26 bedrooms.
There is a chapel with an organ and vestry, plus six residential cottages.
The site has around 127 acres in total, but the advert states additional land is available. It adds that there are "further potential residential and recreational development opportunities".
Agent Goldsmith & Co also has the listing for around 1000 acres overall, for offers over £13.5 million. It described it as: "An exceptional country house estate in the Highlands with a sizeable residential portfolio along with mixed sport and development opportunities."
Although it's not named in either advert – and both only have one internal photograph – a 'see similar properties' search on Rightmove provides a map and postcode of the property. It also has Beauly as its property reference.
It comes after conditional planning permission in principle for a holiday development at the estate was approved in March 2021. The ambitious project consists of 50 lodges, a glamping field, plus a small retail area and café, but it sparked the ire of some locals.
